This by far was the best Hotel my husband and myself have ever stayed in. It was so very clean. A fantastic King Bed with 6 pillows not your normal 2 small ones. All the employees were very nice. Right after we left I noticed I lost an earring (probably in all the pillows). And guess what? I never called them, but they called and asked if I lost an earring and that they would mail it to me. We will absolutely be staying there every time we go up that way. Thanks again Historian Inn for making our stay special.

Perfect Stay! – Historian Inn, Gardnerville, NV

If you are going to or through this area, this is the place to stay! We came through on the first night of a cross country road trip, and we received a warm welcome after a long day of driving through the cold. We had read it had recently been renovated; it basically feels like a brand new establishment. The rooms are huge for a standard room, beautiful furnished (no floral comforters here!), and very cozy and relaxing. It was clean and had a nice spacious bathroom area. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and the lobby is just as nice as the rooms. I hope to stay here again one day!

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel. The rooms have been recently renovated and were an excellent value for the price paid. Loved the nice little touches not usually found at a hotel in this price range, such as robes, refrigerator, flat screen TV, extra large bath towels, etc. The bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay again when traveling to the area.

I loved the Historian Inn before but the recent remodel is amazing! Great job! Beautifully decorated and love the continental breakfast! Will definitely be staying there again

The best part were the beds! – Avalon Lodge (Yelp)

The Avalon Lodge was perfect for our 3 day stay in S. Lake Tahoe! We had looked at several different hotel/lodge options and this was the best option for us!

The best part about this place was definitely the beds! Their Queen pillow top mattresses and cozy comforters made for a good night’s sleep! Our updated room was on the second floor of the lodge and included modern furnishings and 2 Queen beds, clean linens, a small fridge, fireplace heater (with a thermostat) and a nice bathroom with a beautiful stone shower (no tub).

A complimentary continental breakfast is also served until about 10am. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely book here again . . . if only to sleep in those comfy beds again!

Tucked away and quiet – Avalon Lodge (Trip Advisor)

We stayed here in an anniversary trip. The location is perfect – tucked away from the main street around the lake, so it’s quiet, but close enough to walk. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well designed. I loved the extra chubby storage in the bathroom! Great stay. Would go here again and recommend to friends.

Very nice place! – Avalon Lodge (Trip Advisor)

We (a couple) recently stayed for two nights and enjoyed the lodge as a very nice place. We had a room with two queen beds, a fireplace, a fridge and a microwave (which we did not use). This place is very conveniently located just two blocks from the Heavenly gondola and we had a great skiing vacation just walking over, without starting the car. Staff was very friendly and responding to our questions, especially Danielle. We had stayed before in a different lodge nearby (I will not write the name), but the Avalon Lodge is certainly the better place and value.

Great option to casino hotel – Avalon Lodge (Yelp)

The thermostat-controlled fireplace came in handy to counter the ice cold weather outside. The accommodations were nice and updated. Great option to non-casino hotel and only 5 min drive to main casinos. Continental breakfast was oatmeal, coffee, OJ, pound cakes, yogurt with some fresh fruit.
